CERTIFIED CARBON AUDITOR

Certified Carbon Auditor (CCA) is an individual who is qualified to prepare CFP quantification tools and reports, or to assist Validation and Verification Body to verify the supporting documents against the assessment standards for particular product categories under the CIC Green Product Certification (CIC GPC). Below please find the relevant information for your reference.
Qualification Requirements

Applicants for CCA should fulfil the following requirements:
  1. Complete the Awareness Training Course organised by HKGBC.
  2. Complete the relevant Auditor Training Course organised by HKGBC.
  3. Pass the relevant Auditor Examination organised by HKGBC.
  4. Hold one of the following certificates* or have at least three years of experience in carbon footprint auditing.**
    • ISO 14001 Certified Lead Auditor
    • Certified Carbon Auditing Professional (CAP) by Association of Energy Engineers
    • PAS 2050 Certified Verifier
    • Certified Carbon Auditor by Energy Institute Hong Kong Branch
*For applicants who hold relevant certificates, please ensure that the certificate is valid. Please submit the relevant supporting documents during the online application.
**For applicants who have at least three years of experience, please complete the reference letter and submit it during the online application.

Application Procedures
 
Step 1 – Create Online Account

Applicants should create an online account on the CIC GPC website. Applicants will receive an email with login details.

Step 2 – Submit Online Application

Please log in and submit an online application with steps as follows:
  • 1) Auditor Login -> 2) “CCA Licence” -> 3) “Apply a New Licence / Renew Licence” -> 4) Upload relevant information and documents -> 5) Select "Submit Application"
Step 3 – Document Checking by the HKGBC Secretariat

The HKGBC Secretariat will conduct document checking. Applicants may receive feedback from the HKGBC Secretariat. Applicants may be asked to submit supplementary information whenever necessary.

Step 4 - Approval by the CIC

After document checking, the applications will be submitted to CIC for approval.

Step 5 – Settle Administration Fee

An invoice with payment details will be provided to the applicants via email for settling the administration fee. Kindly settle the payment according to the payment methods stated in the invoice.

Step 6 – Receive Certificate

Successful applicants will receive a notification email, together with an e-certificate within two weeks after settling the administration fee. A registration number will be assigned to successful applicants. Registration details and the name of successful applicants will be displayed on the website for public view.

Administration Fee

An administration fee of HK$900 will be charged for each application. The certificate of CCA will be valid for 3 years.

Renewal Requirements and Procedures

To renew, the CCA has to provide two project references related to carbon audit for the past three years and pay an administration fee of HK$900. The renewal of CCA certificate will be valid for 3 years. CCA who failed to renew the certificate will be suspended and their information will be removed from the list of CCA. The renewal procedures are as follows:
